We come with happy greetings,
To all the children’s throng;
And to their Sabbath meetings,
We bear the gift of song;
The songs of great salvation,
The strains of jubilee!
Of praise and exaltation,
The shouts of sacred glee!

No chords of plaint or sadness,
The children’s hearts should know;

This prayer to God ascends:
That while our songs are wending
From lips of youthful friends,
